Like many other reviewers, we gathered a number of bids and Agape was very reasonable on their pricing. What makes them stand apart is they don't just build the wall they quote, they work with you to build your vision of the project without continuously adding cost to the project. Sean and Greg both ask questions before and during the project to understand what you are wanting and usually have suggestions to make the project turn out better than you hoped. I always read reviews on the companys that I plan to use but up til now have never taken the time to do a review. This is a very professional business. They were extremely helpful in the design of the wall. They were on time as promised and worked very hard to get the job completed. My whole back yard looks much better due to the care and concern they did in construction our walls. I would be more than happy to recommend them to anyone needing retainging walls.

We had a wall buitlt By Agape about 18 months ago, we had noticed a slight shift in the wall, we called and left a message for Sean and within 1 day he came to our house to see the problem. He said the problem might be our gas service and that he would have a crew come out and take care of it. His crew arrived on a Saturday morning I think one of the hottest we had and worked very hard until they had it completed the same day. The company is very kind and professinal we would highly recommend them!

We had a large and complex wall done by Agape this summer. Everything about the owner (Sean), the crew, and the work was outstanding. Prior to selecting Agape, we got quotes from multiple other companies. Several of them told us our wall couldn't be built where we wanted it due the steep slope of our lot. Sean told us it would be no problem and gave us a fair price for what we wanted. The guys that built our wall were amazing! They did excellent work in a tough environment and put in long days (even with 90+ temperatures for the whole job). The work was finished on schedule and we couldn't be happier with it. We have received nothing but compliments from our neighbors that have peeked into our backyard. In addition to doing great work, everyone in the company is very polite, clean-cut, and went out of their way to be helpful and friendly. With the craftsmenship and quality materials they put into my 17 foot wall, I am confident it was a great investment and we will enjoy it for many years. Sean and his crew are not only the hardest working team but they all work smart which make the job go easier and faster. All of the workers that worked on mine and my wife’s project of tearing out a 30 year old two tier railroad tie retaining wall and replacing it with a new Rockwood 8” straight face block did a superb job. They all listened when we had questions and they also had the solutions to the questions. We have had a lot compliments on the new wall from everyone that walks past our house. It actually makes our neighborhood look better.

Agape did a retaining wall for my neighbor and did a very good job. When I needed some work at my house I got bids from Agape and several other companies. I chose Agape not only because they were competitively priced but because Sean really took the time to find out what I wanted. The work was done on schedule, on budget and more importantly it was a true professional job. No detail was overlooked and that first job still looks great 7 years later. When I was ready to do an addition to my house, I already knew who I would call to do the back patio. These guys are the best. We got bids from multiple contractors, but none of the other companies had the vision or suggestions that Sean from Agape came with. I was extremely impressed by his ideas and loved the fact that he gave me a few options to choose from. I am so happy we went with them. Not only were they able to triple the size of our usable backyard space, they did it quickly and with very high quality. Sean stayed in touch with us through the whole process and made sure we were happy every step of the way. His team worked non-stop throughout each day they were there and cleaned up everything when they were done (which isn't always the case with some contractors). I am positive we now have the best backyard on the block and will be using that space for a long time. Thanks to Agape Retaining Wall, Inc., I now have the most beautiful driveway, walk and front porch in my neighborhood. I’m not bragging ... my neighbors would agree! There are not many hardscape companies that can provide both creative design as well as such precise installation. My challenge was a porch that separated from the house as it settled. In addition, the driveway and walk had also settled forming uneven pads of concrete. Before making a decision, I met with many concrete and paver companies. To replace all of these surfaces with concrete, I felt was an expense that would soon show wear and eventual cracks again due to settling. Deciding on which company to use was easy after meeting the owner, Sean Haase. Going with the pavers was a much better decision that really added to the curb appeal of my home! I was impressed at the promptness of Sean’s first call back to me. Each time we met, he showed up on time; provided extensive pictures on his website to allow a visual of the different designs and brought samples of the actual pavers so I could select the colors that would match or properly contrast with my house. They even started the job when they said they would and after promptly hauling away the old concrete¸ Agape excavated the subsoil, laid the rock and compacted it for a solid base, put a leveling pad of sand and then installed the pavers. Because of the quality work they did upfront to secure a good foundation, I’ll be enjoying this for a long time! The work crew assigned to my project was exceptional! I have never seen such hard workers. Greg is a strong foreman who truly listens and is not afraid to add his opinion when asked. He knew that I liked curves as an accent to the design and did an awesome job showing this on my front porch steps and in the lines of the driveway. He exceeded all of my expectations! I have already been asked by so many friends who visited over this Christmas holiday to provide them information on Agape Retaining Wall, Inc. It would be my pleasure to recommend a company that delivers what they promise. This is such a departure from most of the competition claiming the same expertise. I have dealt with many Contractors in my Business and Home situations, never have I encountered a company top down that takes so much pride and joy in their work. We had a water flow problem in our back yard that was eroding our deck. We needed a retaining wall and a patio to support the deck and regain function of a large part of our yard. We went with Agape after reading the reviews, not really believing that a Contractor could be that good. We were blown away! They were on the job every morning, politely listened and incorporated the Home owners suggestions and explained what they were doing throughout the Construction process. I have never put the words Trust and Contractor in the same sentence. I wished they did more than retaining walls! Sean, the owner of Agape, Greg, and the rest of their team did an amazing job for us. We have a good piece of property out in Ballwin but our backyard is mostly down hill. They were able to do exactly what we wanted which was putting in a retaining wall to level out a good portion of the yard. They were very professional, and most importantly were very concerned with my wife and I being happy with the work they did. Our backyard is so beautiful and we owe it all to Sean and Agape! We worked with Sean for leveling our backyard and he is just great. Our backyard came out beautifully. After all our work was complete, when it was time to check backflow for our sprinkler system, we realized that some of the sprinklers were broken. Sean readily gave us a refund without asking any questions. When looking for a trust worthy retaining wall installer it is hard to seperate the good from the bad when the sales person for a company is the only person you meet before hand. We met with several installers that all seemed great making what we thought would be a hard decision, till we looked them up on the "contactbb.org" website and found complaints about many we thought would be good. Agape Retaining Walls remained in good light at the end of our search. Sean came to our house and went over our ideas and gave us other options that would actually save us money. We were very impressed with Sean; and once we had Agape start our walls we found that his entire crew was just as impressive and was a great reflection what their company stood for. I have needed to replace deteriorating railroad tie retaining walls in a large terraced area at the side of my house as well as one at the back of my property. I have delayed the project because of the cost. Agape Retaining Walls quote to do the work was within my budget and the pictures of previous projects on their website as well as their references convinced me to go with them for the work. Their men worked during a few of the coldest days of the winter and even prompted my neighbor to comment on the dedication of the men. In preparing the base they found inadequate soil support and had to dig deeper than anticipated and use more gravel than anticipated. They did what was necessary and stayed with the quotation. The finished product is beautiful. It exceeded our expectations.

Imagine a company that takes amazing pride in what they do, is honest in what they say, and their end product excedes your expections. It's hard to believe these days, but Agape Retaining Walls absolutely exemplifies these qualities. Upon meeting Sean, the owner, I instantly knew he was a man passionate about his product and was someone I could trust to deliver on his word. My back yard was nothing but a steep hill filled with trees making it impossible for my three small children to play on. I received several quotes in the span of about 6 months and almost went with a company before I received my last quote from Sean. Agape was equal to my lowest quote and had a website full of previous jobs. He also agreed to tear out a concrete patio that was directing water into my basement at an additional per hour charge. Upon completion of the job, he decided not to charge me for this work!! Greg and his team worked at a back breaking pace and made suggestions that greatly improved my original wall design. I am a skeptic at heart and truely believed Agape's previous reveiws were too good to be true but Agape is as advertised and more. We recently had a home built and during the process, determined we'd want to install a retaining wall across the back of our property (approximately 60 ft). In researching companies on the internet, we kept coming back to Agape's web site after seeing pictures depicting their quality work so we gave them a call. Soon after calling, Agape's owner Sean came out to look over the job site. During his FIRST of several visits, Sean took the time to explain everything his company could do for us to stabilize the steep slope at the rear of our property. Then, after the builder completed the final grading, we had Sean back out to make sure nothing had changed. When he saw the final grading the builder had done, he informed us that in his opinion and with proper vegetation of the slope, we did not need a wall, but he would be happy to build one if we chose. In our opinion, only an honest company & owner would turn down potential business; that impressed us! As time went on and for our own peace of mind, we decided to have the wall installed and Agape was the clear choice. Next came a major hurdle; no direct access to our back yard as our homes are too close together to allow for any equipment to pass between them. Sean's crew mapped out a path that took them through back woods & common ground to eventually reach our property so as to not disturb our neighbors' yards. Then, working on a very steep slope and an extensive amount of loose back fill, they proceeded to dig a SEVEN FOOT DEEP trench before reaching virgin soil where they poured & compacted their deep base of gravel to construct a sturdy foundation before constructing the wall. In cold & sometimes treacherous soil conditions, Agape's team of experts completed the work in 3 days, working until dark each day. They even re-graded a sizable portion of the hillside for us when asked, going over & beyond our expectations. The finished wall is beautiful and we've received many compliments. Sean and his team consistently demonstrated professionalism & integrity from start to finish and we would HIGHLY recommend Agape Retaining Walls for any large or small job you may be considering.

During the torrential rains in October, our 90-foot tie retaining wall fell over, making our back yard a rather dangerous place. We got an estimate from one retaining wall company for a stone wall replacement, but then decided to go to the company that manufactures the stones to educate ourselves a little further. They gave us the names of three companies that they highly recommended to do the work. We called Agape first because they were the closest to our house. Sean came and surveyed the situation and very quickly presented us with an estimate for tearing out the old wooden ties and replacing the previous wall with a stone one. We got a total of three estimates, but Agape, although not the least expensive, seemed to be the company to go with. They began work just a little over four weeks after we signed the contract. His crew of 2 were remarkable. They worked continuously from early morning until late afternoon for 5 working days in a row and finished mid morning on the sixth day. (Sean had told us the job would probably take two weeks.) I have never seen workers from any company work as hard and as steadily as they did. We were very pleased with the job they did. The quality of the stone wall they built is outstanding. We would highly recommend Agape Retaining Walls to anyone.

In addition, they made a fantastic circular planting area around my mailbox with stones that matched the front retaining wall/planting area. Since I recently retired, I asked Sean with Agape Retaining Wall if he would be willing to work with me in holding down the cost of my project. He agreed to provide all the materials and help get me started building. His crew was unbelievable!! They took the time and effort to show me how the wall needed to be constructed. They made recommendations that improved the finished product. They were great to work with. After getting me started I was able to finish the rest of the project myself. This allowed me to stay within budget and at the same time get the quality stones I was wanting for the project. Materials were estimated accurately and the cost was very good. His crew was very helpful in staging all the supplies carefully and there was very little yard work needed get the lawn make in shape. I needed to replace two large railroad tie walls in my backyard that were rotting and collapsing. When I needed to find a retaining wall contractor I was apprehensive because I did not know any and looking through the yellow pages or newspaper ads feels like a gamble. So I went to one of the big retaining wall material suppliers and asked them for a list of their best contractors. Agape was their first recommendation and gave a good reference. I thoroughly reviewed Agape's web site which is a fantastic source for ideas and examples of the quality work they do. I got bids from Agape and two other contractors. Agape's bid was very competitive and fair. Sean from Agape spent a lot of time reviewing and discussing the project with us. We knew exactly what they were going to do and that our yard would be a construction zone during the project. The project was started when they said and turned out better than we imagined. The only problem we encountered was the weather, which caused some delays during the project when there were big rain storms. The two walls turned out to be works of art and our backyard looks like a scene from a landscaping magazine, it so beautiful. These walls will last longer than the house and are just beautiful looking and well constructed. What was interesting about Agape is they made some minor changes that improved the project after it was started. They always discussed them with us first. They did not change their price or schedule like some contractors do if you make a change. They take as much pride and ownership in the project as I would if I were doing it myself. They do everything legal according to county codes and get permits and lien waivers for everything. I have recommended them to several people I work with and neighbors. I would use them in the future and trust them. Now finding a retaining wall contractor is not a gamble.

I chose Agape to build two retaining walls. The wall in the front of my home was small and straightforward; Sean and his crew did a great job and also ensured my lawn wasn't destroyed in the process. The wall in the back of my home was a bit more complex, requiring Agape to remove several large boulders which touched the foundation of my home. I'm sure most contractors would have come in with heavy equipment and knocked these out in a couple hours, but Sean chose the safer route, spending almost two full days removing them with an air hammer. I believe he went above and beyond and handled this as if it were his own home; and because he did there was no damage at all to my foundation. Sean also made several good recommendations that greatly improved the overall end product...and all his recommendations were at no additional cost. The Agape crew was very professional, hard working, and definitely understood their trade. Both walls look great and definitely professionally built. I did a lot of homework before choosing Agape to do my job. In the end, I chose them based on their past performance record, outstanding warranty, and commitment to Christ. They weren't the cheapest bid I received, but they were definitely the best value in terms of past performance, price, and quality. I'm confident I made the right choice and would recommend them to anyone.

Agape did a wonderful job of taking a basic sketch and idea and handling everything from the permit application to the detailed layout, and implementation of the design. They offered a tremendous amount of constructive advice during the planning stage of the project, which involved 2 retaining walls approximately 40 ft long and 5 ft high to achieve level plateaus in our previous steep sloped yard. They worked very efficiently, and despite uncooperative weather, finished the job in a very short time period. They really went the extra mile to expand the job somewhat at no cost to achieve the quality finished results. Their price was very competitive, and I doubt that many other contractors would have made any of the small changes required along the way to achieve the best results without requesting additional money. We would highly recommend Agape to all of our friends.

Agape's entire staff and crew were exceptional, professional and a pleasure to do business with. Timelines were kept and even ahead of schedule. Their professional input helped out allot along the planning phase. There weren't any 'hidden costs' along the way (as we had with other previous experiences with other contractors) as our quote was complete and thorough. After our wall was done so well, we recommended Agape to all our neighbors and we have lost count on how many projects they have done on our street. It's all in the details. I am a repeat customer. Agape did an excellent job with my first project so I didn't hesitate to call them back. Again I am very satisfied with their work. They are one of the few contractors that will do what is right, not what is easiest. You can confidently ask their opinion as to the design and they will give their opinion based on what would be the best way or most appealing design without feeling that you are getting "sold to". I can't say enough good things about Agape Retaining Walls. We hired them to replace our existing retaining wall - a two tiered wall made of rail road ties that spanned the entire width of our yard. Needless to say, it was a big project, but Agape's crew worked tirelessly to deliver a fantastic end result. It was a very rainy March in St. Louis, but they didn't let the weather slow them down much.
